Connect with People
  • Schedule an appointment to meet with your Student Community adviser (required!).

  • Attend your Student Community Meeting early in fall term.

  • Get to know your professors: use instructor office hours.

  • Visit a department or meet with a departmental adviser to learn about opportunities, not just course requirements, in the major.

  • Explore potential majors and career paths by visiting the Career and Community Learning Center. Friendly Peer Advisers will assist you, no appointment needed.

Get Involved!
  • Check out at least two student engagement activities by attending a meeting or information session.

  • Read your Student Community e-newsletter.

  • Keep a journal and bring it to appointments with your Student Community adviser.

  • What was your most surprising discovery this year?

  • Interview a professor about the advantages of a liberal arts degree.

  • Write down goals. Establish intermediate goals that you'll need to complete to meet long-term goals and discuss your goals/plans with your adviser.
